Claudette’s bucket list includes a visit to London’s Highgate Cemetery. The Cemetery is magnificently beautiful with its ivy-clad monuments, and a winding maze of trees. It is the final resting place to over 170,000 souls.

Many famous people, including Mary Ann Evans, known by her pen name George Eliot, are buried at Highgate. Evans, (1819 – 1880), was an English novelist and poet and was one of the leading writers of the Victorian era. She used a male pseudonym partly to conceal her gender and partly to disguise her irregular social position, living as an unmarried woman with a married man. Out on a limb and marching to her own drummer, she and Claudette could have been great friends!

Women rely on their female friendships for support, advice, a shoulder to cry on, and sharing of secrets. We all go through highs and lows, and these experiences are little easier to bear when we have female friends to support us. Claudette is that kind of woman. She is always there for a girlfriend. In fact, she would be the friend to call if you ever needed to hide a body…. perhaps that’s why she’s at Highgate…
